Dear Potential Leader,

            It brings us great joy that you are considering a role as a leader/teacher in our church family. If you were to ask many pastors what the greatest need is in their church, the answer would almost always be: more leaders. John Maxwell says that “everything rises and falls on leadership.” Every member of the church has a part in helping us carry out our vision of doing whatever it takes to lead people to Believe in Jesus, Belong to His family and Become who God has created them to be. Our leaders play an important part in equipping our church members to be disciples that carry out Jesus’ vision for the church.

            Given the importance of leadership in the church, we have high expectations for those who step into this position of influence. When you join our church, you commit to regularly attend Worship gatherings, Grow through LIFEGroup, Serve in a ministry, Give generously, and Reach others with the Gospel. Our desire is for every member to be held accountable and encouraged in those areas, but it is not possible for us to ensure that is happening. However, if you indicate that you want to lead, we want to ensure that you are leading by example in your commitment to Christ and that you will be teaching in accordance with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of God. This application enables us to understand where you are in your walk with Christ and commitment to Church on Bayshore.

Do you give sacrificially (At least a tithe - 1/10th of your income) to Church on Bayshore regularly?
Are you willing to invest the time to attend team meetings, understanding repeated absences may result in a dismissal from the team?
As a leader/teacher, will you lead/teach in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and Constitution & By-Laws of Church on Bayshore?
Do you have any areas you disagree with?
Will you conduct your life in private, in public, and on social media in accordance with the Word of God?
Do you have any criminal proceedings currently outstanding and/or nearing trial?
Have you ever pled “guilty” or “no contest” to, or been convicted of a violation or a crime other than a minor traffic violation?
